Proper Candle Care is essential to achieve the perfect burn.

  • Trim your wick to 1/4” before each burn. This helps with excess carbon buildup in the wick and allows the fragrance to burn better (don’t trim too much or your candle will not burn!).

  • Ensure your first burn is for at least 3 hours or until wax pool reaches the edge of the candle jar. If you don’t do this, you will end up with a tunnel after every burn and have wasted wax. This will result in a poor performing candle.

  • Even after your initial burn, always be sure to burn your candle until the wax pool reaches the edge of your jar to prevent tunneling. If tunneling occurs, wrap a piece of tinfoil around your candle and light it, as normal. The tinfoil should help fully melt the wax to achieve a wax pool that reaches the edge of the jar.

  • It takes about 30 minutes of burn time for the fragrance to start dispersing in the air. Larger rooms may take more time or more than one candle. Our single-wick candles are perfect for smaller rooms such as bathrooms, bedrooms, etc. Our double-wicks are great for larger areas such as living areas, open floor plans, etc.

  • It is not uncommon for candles to slightly pull away from the jar due to temperature change during shipment. This does not harm the candle or scent in any way. This is often times inevitable since we hand-pour in small batches with a soft, natural wax blend, especially during the coldest months of the year.

  • Always follow warning label placed on the bottom of your candle and instruction card found in your shipment to prevent fire or injury. MDLC is not responsible for any damage caused by negligent use of this product.

Reed Diffuser Care

Reed diffusers are a great way to add lasting flameless fragrance to your home. Our eco-fiber diffuser reeds soak up the fragrance oil and disperse scent into the air for 3-5 months, or until the liquid has fully evaporated.

Diffusers are perfect for small areas where you can’t keep an eye on your MDLC candles including linen closets, bedrooms, bathrooms, office desks, entry ways, etc. Want a fresh burst of fragrance? Flip your reeds for fresh and continuous fragrance, minding not to set your diffuser or drip the oil on surfaces that might stain from the fragrance oil base.

• Remove stopper and insert reeds into diffuser bottle. Allow reeds to soak up oil for one hour. Flip reeds so the dry end of the reeds can fully saturate with oil.

• Place your diffuser in a high traffic area of your home where the fragrance will disperse with air circulation. Expect fragrance to start perfuming your room within 24 hours.

• Place diffuser where it will not be knocked over or disturbed by children or pets.

• Follow instructions included in your shipment and always be sure to be mindful of the warning label on the bottle.
